Meet Certified Career Clarity Coach

Brian Newkirk

How i  got my start:

I spent the majority of my career in a position that checked the boxes for job security, some level of prestige, and reasonable pay. The issue was that I was not happy -- and that work became more important than my family or my health. In a sense, I was in denial, and checking the wrong boxes.

The job security and prestige required working 40+ hours a week and remaining on call 24/7 (to prove that no one could out work me). And, the pay was fine...if you never researched what you’re actually worth. I call it being comfortably miserable until it’s no longer comfortable.

I sought coaching for myself, and required a complete reboot to understand my strengths, identify and respect my values, and see that I am more than my job title.

Going through that process helped me align my strengths with my goal: to help anyone out of the misery
hamster wheel that may be their career. Define the “balance” in work life balance to truly benefit them. This is my mission and why I became a career coach.

"Brian's coaching is direct and simple to help me get past my mental barriers (even if I don't know they exist). He also suggests strategy that challenges me to move forward in my career path. Since working with Brian, I've gained more self-awareness and momentum than I thought possible"

3 things most people don’t know about me

  • Nothing gets me in the holiday spirit more than hot cocoa, a warm slice of pecan pie, and a Hallmark holiday movie (I'm a romantic at heart.)
  • I LOVE superhero movies. I love sharing these experiences with my two sons. Wakanda Forever.
  • I have a deep passion for music.  I’m in the process of learning the drum set, but my go to will always be the bass.  This is my semi-acoustic Hofner four string.
